Reflections of the Light of the Month
By Maritza M. Mejia
Fall Reflection 2020
The beginning of autumn varies depending on the year, as it happens with all seasons. In the northern hemisphere it begins with the autumnal equinox on September 22, while in the southern hemisphere it does the same days but in March. The autumnal equinox is the time of year when the day is the same length as the night. From then on, the days will get shorter and shorter, as autumn is the time when the length of the day shortens the fastest.
Meteorologists tell us that in October 2020, we will have two full moons; at the beginning and end of the month. But for COVID-19 there has been no season, it has continued to infect right and left. Various countries no longer know how to act; common sense is no longer so common, and mistrust of the authorities is increasing. We stay away from watching the news because we don't know if we are getting informed or misinformed. And we wonder, will we return to normal? … I do not know!
However, what I do know is that my message is the same. It is time for change, to go back to basics, to leave behind unbridled consumerism and a lack of care for our nature. It is said easy, but the difficult thing is to act, change your lifestyle, eat healthier, live a more peaceful life. And remember that we are not just matter, there is also an immortal essence in us that we must take care of.
From my corner, I wish you a happy and blessed Fall / Winter.
Nature + Collaboration + Productivity = Peace
